Easy Backlink Experiment – Update 3
Hi Guys, today is the end of week 2 of the experiment. Links are still coming back to the blog in dribs and drabs. I expect this to continue, particularly with the tools such as RSSBot and Backlinker Pro. That is why the experiment will run for 3 months. These figures do not include the result from Bookmarking Demon 5 as it has only been running for a couple of days (although it does have a link already). the first results for BMB 5 will be in next weeks update. So here are the results. Read the rest of this entry »
Free Backlink Finder Tool
We all know
the importance of building backlinks. Without them the chances of your site ranking well in Google’s search results a pretty slim.
And if you can find links from sites that are related to your own then Google adds a few bonus points on for you.
So how do you go about finding niche specific backlinks?
Well, there are some brilliant tools on the market to locate backlinks which are relevant to your niche. Fast Blog Finder immediately springs to mind.
But if you don’t want to go to the expense of buying software Read the rest of this entry »
Calculate potential Adsense income.
I wouldn’t normally ‘rip-off’ a post I’d seen on someone else’s site. But I’m a real
numbers guy and this post on The Keyword Academy made me get my calculator out before I’d even finished reading it!
So what’s it about?
Basically it’s a simple calculation which could help you work out your potential income from an adsense site.
Now, there are NO hard and fast rules to this stuff, there is NO calculation which is totally accurate, but it is nice to have some sort of rough guide BEFORE you build a new adsense site.
I’ve also added some ideas on where to find high paying Adwords ads and I’ve created a simple spreadsheet to drop the numbers into.
So this is how to work out your potential Adsense earnings before building your site.
Nip over to Spyfu and grab the list of top 100 keywords by ‘Highest Cost Per Click’ then go over to the google keywords tool.
We want to find the amount of global searches for each of the words on our list. We don’t (necessarily) want to get suggestions for new words. So, make sure that you click on the ‘Previous Interface’
And then Edit where the results are tailored for – we want All countries and territories.
Next click on ‘Filter my results’ and check the ‘Don’t show ideas for new keywords. I only want to see data about the keywords I entered’ and un-check the ‘Use synonyms’ box.
Close the options up and paste your word list into the box (one word or phrase per line) and click the get ideas button.
Now export the results in .CSV (for Excel) format and open them up.
Copy and paste each column into this simple, free spreadsheet I created.
Download Free Spreadsheet
The sheet takes the figures and works out for each keyword what the top advertiser is prepared to spend, and of that money, how much the first site on google’s search page for that keyword could make. It also works out potentially how many clicks the first site could get on the ad as well.
As I said, this isn’t hard and fast and there are a lot of other factors to consider. But hopefully it should give you an indication if it is worth the effort to build a site for a given keyword.
Thanks to Court for the original post. If you haven’t visited to The Keyword Academy I suggest you go there and have a look.

Export Links including Categories
There will come a time soon, when you find your
self creating 3, 4 or maybe more blogs all targetting keywords in the same niche, particularly if you are making money with the Commission Ritual methods.
Because WordPress doesn’t advertise the fact that it can export as well as import blogroll links you may well find yourself spending hour after hour copying and pasting links from one blog to the next and then again to the next and so on.
But it doesn’t have to be like that.
There are a couple of plugins which do an excellent job of exporting links.
The first is called Blogroll OPML Export and was suggested to me by Rochelle at Niche Store Strategies Blog.
After downloading, installing and activating the plugin you are prompted to export your blogroll links to a text file (with .opml extension – NOT .txt)
Then you go to your new blog and click on tools/import/blogroll and the plugin will import your blogroll and let you choose which category to place them in.
The second, and my preferred plugin is called ‘Import Blogroll With Categories‘. Not a particularly inspiring name, but the plugin does EXACTLY what it say on the can!
I think it is easier to use as well.
Install the plugin on both blogs. One the blog which has links, from the links menu click export. You will be presented with a html page of your links in opml format. Highlight and copy the url.
Next, on your new blog, from the links menu click, import. One the screen that open up paste in the url you copied and hit enter. Your links are now all imported and categorised.
There are lots of options with this plugin such as creating categories or importing from a saved file etc etc. But for me it works perfectly out of the box.

Brilliant Free Online Logo/Text Tool
I was looking to insert some nice text into a web site I’m working on. But all of the tools I have to create text with impact are, to be frank, a pain in the butt to use. They are all great, but for a quick one off graphic it takes forever.
So I did a quick search of the free online graphics tools and found this:
Which has just blown me away. It is simple to use yet powerful and the best part is that it is totally free!
Here are a couple of text graphics I knocked out in about 10 seconds.

Can you rank with Duplicate Content?
There is a common belief amongst internet marketers that you cannot rank well with duplicate content. But do we know for sure that that is true?
There are millions of sites out there that in my eyes are ranking well and yet I KNOW that there is almost no, or in some cases none unique content.
The way they manage to rank is to take lots of different bits of content from lots of different sites, scramble it up a bit, and bingo… a new ranking page.
These sites are known as agregator sites because the content they publish is an agregate of other sites.
Alex Goad, producer of the new Auto Content Cash program has released a video. Obviously the end of the video is promoting Auto Content Cash and telling us how much money ACC creates and how well the sites rank, (He shows a completely auto blogging site which ranks 9th out of over 9 million – which I have to say is pretty impressive!). There is a LOT of good stuff in here, and it is well worth spending 15 minutes to watch it.
