Don’t you just love product launches?  Not for the junk mail filling up your inbox, not for the long form sales pages and certainly not for all the hype.  No the things that I love about product launches is the free software that is increasingly being given away as a way to build excitement in the launch.

Just this week Michelle Macpherson has released a great piece of software called “Free Rank Decoder” in the run up her launch of Crowd Mountain 2.0.  This software has two functions, the first is to find the most effective web 2.0 backlinks and the second is to find the best available backlinks to you own specific niche.  This simple sounding idea is actually a VERY powerful tool which should be every marketer’s tool-kit.

A few weeks ago, as part of the Auto Content Cash Launch, Brian Johnson and Alex Goad gave away a brilliant Wordpress plugin called Deep Linking Engine, which nips out and automatically finds links back to the posts on your blog. In fact, if you look to the bottom of this page, you can see the results of Deep Linking Engine at work.

Then this morning, I got a very pleasant e-mail from Mike Merz letting me know that as a buzz-builder for CB Predators, he is about to give away a piece of software which will automatically drip feed content into your blog.

What I really like about these pre-launch give-aways is that it is REAL software. By that, I mean it isn’t just a piece of rebranded PLR stuff. Each of these giveaways is really useful and is worth a considerable amount of money, $97 in the case of FREE Rank Decoder, $67 for Deep Linking Engine and around $50 for the autoposter.

But, there’s always a ‘but’ isn’t there! J All of this software has a limited release. So if you don’t get it during the launch or shortly after then it usually get taken down and you can no longer get hold of it.
