Easy Backlinks Experiment – Update 2
This is just a quick update to let you guys know that I’ve added another tool to the Easy Backlinks Experiment today.
I have thrown about 70 social bookmarks into the experiment using Bookmarking Demon 5.
For those of you who haven’t used this software, Bookmarking Demon is a piece of software which will post your URL to hundreds of social bookmarking sites such as Digg, Jumptags etc.
The beauty of this software, and the thing which makes it the ‘Best in Class’ in my opinion, is that it will set up accounts, crawl your sites for urls and post them to however many bookmarking sites that you choose, all automatically. It will also ping those sites, which helps to get the backlinks indexed.
And, to stop your social bookmarking accounts getting banned as a self promoter, Bookmarking Demon 5 will pull in RSS feeds and disguise your links by mixing them into those random RSS feeds.
A word of caution though, unless you are going to restrict your bookmarking to the sites which don’t use a Captchas you will be spending a HUGE amount of time solving those nuisance little pop-ups.
For this reason the creators of Bookmarking Demon 5 EdwinSoft have built in Captcha solving functionality. You will have to open accounts at either (or both) DeCaptcher or BypassCaptcha and buy some credits. But they are really cheap. DeCaptcher charges $2 for a thousand Captcha’s. Money well spent.
Anyway, here is a video which shows off some of the features in a much better manner than I ever could. Enjoy.
(BTW – In case you were wonder about the relevance of the cartoon at the top… It’s the missing link!

Easy Backlinks Experiment – Update 3 Week 2 Results

Greetings from Maine,
Your experiments are the best. I have had problems with Social bookmarking and directories for 3 months now and I believe I have found the answer in the Demon
Keep up the good work
JB
I LOVE Bookmarking Demon. I’ve been with it since a very early version. It takes a bit of getting used to, but as an IM tool I think it is hard to beat! Cheers. Dave…
Isn;t bookmarking demon risky? I mean at can literally spam bookmarking sites. I tried another bookmarking freeware and bookmark sites banned my website entirely. They could be easy backlinks but aren’t try risky for SEO too?
Hi Joel,
If it were that easy to get sites banned by bookmarking then everybody would be bookmarking their competitions sites! As the experiment is showing throwing tonnes of bookmarks at you site doesn’t do it any harm. Two things to take into account here, BMD5 allows you to automatically drip feed bookmarks so that they don’t all land at once and also, which no-one seems to take into account, is that Google indexes these bookmarks a different times, sometimes weeks or months after they have been dropped, which is another form of drip feeding.
I believe that the mantra that is often quoted about too many bookmarks too soon is just another internet marketing myth.
Regards
Dave….
There’s a lot of hype and buzz around social media these days. There’s a reason for that. It is truly the most viral marketing alternative available, and it is FREE! The trick to making social media work for marketing is to create a hub and to be systematic about it. What I mean is that you should NOT go into social media sites to only spam your business. That’s poor form! Use social media to be, well, social. Meet people, form relationships. Then, direct them to content they can benefit from like a great article you’ve just posted, or a video training you created. You can have all that content in your blog, which becomes your hub! Finally, have your blog or content post lead them to your sales page! That’s how your build a social media funnel! Now, social media can be dangerous, it is way too much fun. So, use tools to simplify and expedite your social media updates. Be very systematic, and have a set limit to the time you spend on each site.
Yes, getting good links to my website is still the hardest part in seo for me.
Some great advice. Thanks, Dave
