Free Squeeze Page Generator Plugin

Free Squeeze Page Generator PluginHi guys,

this is just a quick post to tell you about a new free plugin I’ve just had an e-mail about.  It’s called the Authority Squeeze Generator plugin and it is to promote a new product by Alex Goad and Bryan McConnahea.

I haven’t really had a look at the product that is being sold, however the plugin looks great.

A lot of these Guru guys are offering free  software as an appetizer for their package, and a lot of it is pretty good (if you wanted to show how good your product was, would you give away something crap as a loss leader?)

Anyway, here is the bumph off their page, and you will have to opt-in to get the free squeeze page generator.

Discount Coupon – phpBay Pro and phpZon Pro

PhpBay phpZon pro discount couponSpecial Discount Coupon – phpBay Pro and phpZon Pro

If you haven’t already got this years Christmas sites up and running, don’t worry.  There is still time to build them and cash in on those Christmas 2010 niches.

I had an e-mail from Wade Wells, the creator of phpBay pro and phpZon pro, reminding me that because of Google’s quirky algorithm, for the first four to six weeks of a site it is likely to receive a significant boost in it’s rankings before settling into it’s natural position.

So it follows that if you create some new sites six weeks before say, the week before Christmas, then those sites will benefit from a Google assisted boost in sales.

To help you build these sites Wade has offered a special 20% discount coupon on both phpBay pro and phpZon pro.  To use this discount coupon enter this Read the rest of this entry »

Easy Backlinks Experiment – Update 5

Easy Backlink Experiment NetBenefits.infoHi Guys,

it’s gone a bit quiet on the test blog this week. There were a couple of minor changes with one of the programs adding one or two extra backlinks.

I have also added another tool to the mix.

I have been a subscriber to Traffic-Bug since the early days, stumbling across it during the 2009 Thirty Day Challenge.

But, because of the other tools I was using, such as Bookmarking Demon 5 etc, I sort of lost interest in it.

But the subscription was still there so I decided to see how it performs.   I know that as an indexing tool it is excellent, but I’ve never tested to quality or quantity of the backlinks it produces.

I have added two pages to the test blog, one to test the traffic-bug submitter and the other to test the RSS submitter side of the program and have set the program onto aggressive, which essentially means that it will drop lots of backlinks in a short space of time.

Anyway, let’s have a look at the figures from last week. Read the rest of this entry »

Every 3 seconds, a lonely blog commits suicide

Suicidal BlogOkay, maybe that’s a slight exageration, but just look around, blogs are sloping off, into long forgotten, dark corners of the web and just fading out of existence at an astronomicalrate. Henceforth we can refer to these as Suicidal Blogs!

Why?

Well, lets’s face it, blog writers (me included) are fickle, all we care about is becoming popular (and rich :-)   ).

If the blog they write doesn’t reap traffic in the the way they expect it to, they tend to neglect it, sometimes to the point it can’t Read the rest of this entry »

How to embed FLV video into WordPress

There are times when you need to include a video on your site.  Now while it is simple enough to embed a Youtube video onto your page sometimes the video you want isn’t on youtube, or maybe it’s one of your own videos that your don’t want to make available to casual browsers.

That’s when FLV plugin from Jeroen comes in handy.

You just download and activate the plugin, then insert a simple shortcode wherever you want the video to appear.

This plugin uses one universal, standard tag style:

flv:url width height
  • url – the URL of the FLV file you want to embed, the path can either be site-relative or absolute
  • width – width of the FLV movie
  • height – height of the FLV movie

Jeroen’s FLV Player supports poster frame, ie. a front cover for the video.  This can be any image you want and can even be uploaded to a different location. By default the poster frame is set to off, you turn it on via the options in the plugin settings.

Without poster frame
The poster frame feature is turned off by default.

Example input shortcode:

flv:http://netbenefits.info/flvvideos/demo.flv 480 360 (You need to put [] surrounding the code.)

With poster frame
In order to use this poster frame feature, you will need to turn it on via options. Once turned on, the player will look for preview image that share the same filename as the embedded FLV file. For example, if your embedded FLV file is “demo.flv”, the player will display “demo.jpg” as preview image. By default, the filetype of preview image is “jpg”, but this can be changed via options.

Example input shortcode: (Exactly the same as without poster frame!

flv:http://netbenefits.info/flvvideos/demo.flv 480 360
You can download this excelent free plugin from here. FLV Plugin
This plugin is free for non commercial use, but I can’t find a price for business use.  I wouldn’t guess it’s much.

    Export Links including Categories

There will come a time soon, when you find yourself creating 3, 4 or maybe more blogs all targetting keywords in the same niche, particularly if you are making money with the Commission Ritual methods.

Because WordPress doesn’t advertise the fact that it can export as well as import blogroll links you may well find yourself spending hour after hour copying and pasting links from one blog to the next and then again to the next and so on.

But it doesn’t have to be like that.

There are a couple of plugins which do an excellent job of exporting links.

The first is called Blogroll OPML Export and was suggested to me by Rochelle at Niche Store Strategies Blog.

After downloading, installing and activating the plugin you are prompted to export your blogroll links to a text file (with .opml extension – NOT .txt)

Then you go to your new blog and click on tools/import/blogroll and the plugin will import your blogroll and let you choose which category to place them in.

The second, and my preferred plugin is called ‘Import Blogroll With Categories‘. Not a particularly inspiring name, but the plugin does EXACTLY what it say on the can!

I think it is easier to use as well.

Install the plugin on both blogs.  One the blog which has links, from the links menu click export. You will be presented with a html page of your links in opml format. Highlight and copy the url.

Next, on your new blog, from the links menu click, import.  One the screen that open up paste in the url you copied and hit enter.  Your links are now all imported and categorised.

There are lots of options with this plugin such as creating categories or importing from a saved file etc etc.  But for me it works perfectly out of the box.
