We all know
the importance of building backlinks. Without them the chances of your site ranking well in Google’s search results a pretty slim.
And if you can find links from sites that are related to your own then Google adds a few bonus points on for you.
So how do you go about finding niche specific backlinks?
Well, there are some brilliant tools on the market to locate backlinks which are relevant to your niche. Fast Blog Finder immediately springs to mind.
But if you don’t want to go to the expense of buying software or you just want to do a quick bit of research and drop in a couple of backlinks then here is a tool to help you.
How it Works
It is not enough just to have a lot of backlinks, it is the quality of backlinks along with the quantity that help you rank better in Search Engines.
A backlink could be considered as a Quality Backlink if;
1. The Theme of the backlinking website is the same as your website.
2. It links to your website with the keyword (keyphrase) that you are trying to optimize for.
This tools searches for websites of the theme you specify that contain keyphrases like “Add link”, “Add site”, “Add URL”, “Add URL”, “Submit URL”, “Add Article” etc.
Most of the results could be quality potential backlinks.

Lately I have been doing a lot of directory submissions to build up my backlinks. I write an article and then submit it to the following sites for approval: 1. Ezinearticles.com (constanly crawled by google) 2. Goarticles.com (huge site, lots of traffic) 3. Rysite.com (tweets articles + quick indexing) 4. Articlealley.com (easy to submit to) 5. buzzle.com (has a high PR and is very popular) By submitting articles to those sites, i have recieved a lot of traffic. Especially from rysite.com because i get traffic not only from my article, but they tweet it to a following based on your keyword and as a result I get traffic from twitter as well. Hope that helps!

Hi Maria,
I use SEOQuake with Firefox browser. The toolbar at the top of the screen has buttons to check on backlinks to both the domain and the page. You can then drill down further to check where they are coming from, the page rank etc.

Backlinks are vital to seo and it took me quite a while to realize this. I did not even use to know what the hell a backlink was or how to make one.. vital to seo sucess though..
I also use backlinkwatch I think that tool is awesome.
